A couple of weeks ago I stayed at Mily’s Home Peru and honestly, the location couldn’t have been better. Just a stone’s throw from Lima’s vibrant historic centre and with easy access to public transport, exploring the city became a breeze. There was nothing better than avoiding Lima traffic and enjoying the proximity to Miraflores, the charming Barranco Boulevard and, of course, a fantastic culinary offering.
One night, with my stomach roaring with hunger, I decided to go out and find something to eat. After a short walk of about 5 minutes, I stumbled upon a little corner of happiness called ‘Sanguchon Campesino’ (Nicolás de Piérola 351, Barranco). And you know what? This place became my new sandwich sanctuary.
I’ve always thought that sandwiches are a safe bet when it comes to trying something new. So I ordered a classic cheeseburger, expecting something good, but what I got was a real treat. Imagine a gigantic burger, bursting with flavour, and best of all, with a variety of sauces to choose from that goes beyond the typical mayo and ketchup. We’re talking olives, avocado, different types of chilli, fruits and an endless number of delicious creams.
Not only was the burger huge and tasty, but it was accompanied by incredibly friendly staff that made the experience even better. I left there more than satisfied, with a smile on my face and a promise to return soon.
